Methodology & sourcing
Each policy area opens with neutral, individually-sourced background so positions can be judged against the actual situation. Candidate positions are drawn first from their own words and campaign materials, then from reporting. Every claim links to a source with its publication date; positions that are inferred rather than directly stated are flagged with a lower confidence level and a caveat. The left–right spectrum placement is an interpretive aid, not a precise score — each marker carries a rationale. Candidates are always listed alphabetically by surname.
Confidence levels
- Stated directly
- Backed by the candidate's own words plus reporting.
- Reported
- Based on third-party reporting of the candidate's position.
- Inferred
- Deduced from campaign materials or record, not an explicit statement.
- No clear position
- No clear position on this point was located.

- News report
A position is rated Stated directlyonly when backed by the candidate's own words or record plus corroborating reporting. Where a stance is inferred from materials rather than stated outright, it is flagged with a caveat and a lower confidence level.
